*Enter Kyrie and KD* Combining for 66 points with Kyrie getting the better of his former team at 37 points total, KD followed suit with a tremendous 29 point performance. Odd, but nothing too egregious yet, a win is a win after all.
Was a strange finish considering that our two stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum only combined for a total of 17 points in the 4th quarter. The final score ended up being 122-121with Giannis and Middleton bullying the Celtics for a combined 28 points almost stealing a victory. Opening the season with a nail biter win over the Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee Bucks, the Celtics poured it on in the early 3 quarters of the game and seemingly took their foot off the gas in the fourth. Always searching for new avenues of success and closing the gap on your competition and finishing with a close is truly a simple thing when said but in practice, it comes with experience and time in your respective outlet.
Being able to call it a day and finish ahead of the competition and stacking wins is obviously a great feat. This retrospective looking at the start of the 2021 season wont focus so much on stats rather a look at a mindset and overall narrative that we’re looking at early in the season…Alec Baldwin might’ve said it best, “Always be closing.” Finishing the deal is the sweetest thing in life.
